Crepes on the Brain

This past weekend, we ventured out to support our economy by going out to eat. When our first location was booked with a 2 1/2 hour table wait, we decided to forgo fancy and hit the upscale mall food court. I was in heaven when I discovered there was a crepe place and since then can't get them out of my mind. I ended up getting a cinnamon sugar one (a slightly naughty dinner choice) and my husband got the BBQ Chicken one. Now my mission this week is to make a batch. Crepes are easy. To steal a quote from a rather silly movie, if you can make a pancake, you can make a crepe. No special tools are required. For those that need guidance, check out this recipe and video. The hardest part is figuring out all the different ways you can serve them. I love chicken crepes, but am also a big fan of dessert crepes with chocolate and fruit. And let's not forget seafood crepes and ham and cheese crepes. So many choices, so little daily carb allowance. Well, I am off to go dream in crepe land! Enjoy!

Flourless Chocolate Cake - The love of my life

As many of you may know Lent, which started this past Wednesday, is a time to give up something you love until Easter. Although I have many addictions (all legal), chocolate would be number one for me. I love it in pretty much all forms, but one of my favorite recipes is for flourless chocolate cake. It is almost like being allowed to eat a huge piece of fudge, but nobody judges you. I first fell in love with it on a Royal Caribbean Cruise and was so happy to see that it was featured in their cookbook, which I bought as a souvenir. To me a cookbook is worth way more then a t-shirt or shot glass even if you don't cook anything, but just drool over the photos. So enjoy this sinful recipe as I slowly count the days until April 12th!
