Cranberry Apple Casserole - Sweet way to use up the apples

Still apple season and I am still staring at my big pile of apples so I need to work on another recipe to help use them up. Here is a recipe for Cranberry Apple Casserole. This is another dish that always seems to pop up at the holidays. It is used as a side dish but could also double as a dessert. Enjoy!

Cranberry Apple Casserole

3 large apples
1 pkg cranberries (Fresh or frozen)
2 T. flour
1 cup sugar
3 pkg cinnamon spice instant oatmeal or 1 1/4 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup flour
1/2 brown sugar
1/2 melted butter
1/2 cup chopped pecans, optional

Peel and chop apples. Mix with cranberries and 2 T flour to coat. Add sugar. In a separate bowl mix oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, melted butter and pecans. Spread over cranberry mixture and bake 45 min at 350 degrees.
